A LETTER OF REDRESS

We the above named association, wishes to express our profound gratitude for your immense contribution towards humanitarian and socio-economical development in our dear community, Okpella.

          However, we must report cases  of undue marginalization and ill treatment of indigenous workers in DANGOTE group,  Ukhomunyio plant in Okpella to you. This undue treatment of the indigenous workers has gotten to a reprehensible situation that if not checked, it’s likely to cause worker’s unrest in your esteemed company.

May we crave your indulgence to specifically report a case of ‘ modern slavery’  currently taking in your company right now. SINOMA and AYOKI, your sub-contractors have continuously locked up their workers in your company since the outbreak of Corona Virus. They are not allowed or permitted to go home. This is certainly man’s inhumanity to man.

Our attention was drawn to this but we have decided not to get the services of a lawyer on their behalf as we believe that you are not aware of such conduct. Use your good office to attend to this case, please

It is also our report to you that the workers of SINOMA AND AYOKE  remuneration is a Far cry from the standard practice. Please see to the salary of the workers of your sub-contractors.
